I don't normally like 80/20 strings, but got these in a 2-for-1 sale. I put a set on the D-26. There bright and metallic at first, but quickly settled in after 4 hours (that was quick). Once the metallic clank was gone they sounded okay, very similar to a phosphor-bronze string, with good balance from top to bottom. The bottom was not flabby and the tops not overly strident. That only lasted the 5 days when they started diminishing in tone and volume. I'm lucky that I have pretty dry hands so strings tend to last a long time for me. With "Enhanced Molecular Protection" I figured I'd get a few weeks out them. I removed them after only 2 weeks. Oh well. I'm not sure what I'll do with the other set knowing they won't last long.

Enhanced molecular protection... for goodness sake... I wonder if they know/care that EMP (usually) stands for electro-magnetic pulse. As in destroy your electronics and your power grid. :)

If you have a tube amp, you should be OK. Although it might take out your bias diode if it's fixed bias.

It has always been a source of great comfort that my Hi-Fi would still be useable to play records, though I'd have to sort out a generator to power it!;) Unfortunately my guitar amp is solid state; on the other hand, I'm mainly playing acoustic at the moment anyway:LOL:
