My F-40 Traditional has a voice that is in between the two Guilds in this video. As an aside, I like the (discontinued) rosewood Gibson SJ-200 better than the F-55.

Honesthy they all are excellent guitars and if in search for one (either for a Jumbo or for a new main guitar), I'd be likely to pick up the one that sells for the most "reasonable" price (for my wallet ;)), i.e. quite likely an F-40 considering the Gibson must cost around 4500/5000, the F-55 about 3500/3800 and the F-40 maybe a slight little bit under 3000 dollars...
Is that right ?

Check out guildguitars.com website for pricing. However, also try Sweetwater.com for the probably the best retail price. Or, musiciansfriend.com. That Gibson J-200 special rosewood model is no longer made. You can find good used ones on Reverb.com. The vintage version of the F-40 is called F-48, and they are kinda rare. Though, they do turn up on Reverb.com from time to time. I owned an F-48 and loved it.

You can pick up a new F-40 from Sweetwater for $2,100.

I think the F-40 Traditional is about $500 - $600 more than the "regular" F-40. Not sure what the difference is, but you can usually tell them apart by the binding, white on the standard F-40, tortoise on the Traditional. I've got the Traditional and I love it. Would have liked to see how the fully Maple F-55 sounded among the lot too.

As an aside, I like the (discontinued) rosewood Gibson SJ-200 better than the F-55.
I agree. But those are $6200 new...

I like Gibson gear quite a bit but I never did fall in love with the SJ 200. I've owned ythe SJ 200 in both RW and Maple and to my ear anyway, they never really sounded as good as the F 50 or F 50R. So, I sold them and kept the Guilds. They are nice guitars though.

Besides the binding you mentioned:
Traditional vs. Standard:

Higher grade sitka spruce top
Dovetail joint neck vs. bolt on neck
3 piece mahogany with walnut center strip neck vs. one piece mahogany neck
MOP Guild peak and Chesterfield inlay vs. just peak logo on headstock
Gloss nitrocellulose vs. Satin nitrocellulose lacquer
There might be differences in the tuners as well, not sure.
