Looking at a guild tweed case..wondering if the experts can tell me if this is correct for a 70's Guild D40...no sense spending money if not right for the guitar

When I bought my '72 D-35, I got a black, "tolex"-covered case with a purplish FELT (not plush) lining. The case was separate, meaning not specifically bundled with the guitar... tho' the shop said it was the "official" Guild case, it was un-branded. Might have been the #4520 case listed in this price list from 1972...

Probably a 2520 case similar to this one.

In my experience they're not the best, but if you're chasing OEM, that was likely it.

My 70 D 35's is very much like this one with Guild stenciled in gold on the case. Very aged now, but the case is in good shape.
