"Acoustic Midget" is a great phrase, and apropos. My point is a somewhat vague distinction: the Hamer Duotone, Taylor T5, and Crossroads are not solidbody guitars. They have a bit more natural volume than a Godin LGX (or similar Godin) or a Parker. But not enough to be useful unamplified.

Coastie -

As promised, here's some pics of my Crossroads. I recently restrung it with superlight D'Addarios - a set of 9-42s someone gave me. I figured if there's any acoustic to use strings like this, it's the Crossroads. They do intone extremely well (you'll notice the bridge is not compensated and this set has a plain G), but amplified, the sound is too tinny - back to 10s or 11s next time. But, man, can you bend notes...

This particular piece has a history - it was owned and used by Peter Klett of the very popular (I am told) '90s grunge group "Candlebox". Coastie - you've sparked my interest - going to search the web to see if I can find a pic of Peter playing the Crossroads.

And it looks even better in person - it's a satin-type finish, but very hard - and because there's no gloss, there's no distortion to the graining.

The back is very plain looking - typical Guild - no back edge binding.
