Man he played that one a bit didn't he? It cracks me up to see some of the stuff players used to use. Like that strap bracket.

No, but I played a $15,000 Collings mandolin, and 1 of the 2 Gibson L-5's you see hanging on the wall behind us. Wasn't real impressed with the L-5 :(

I think that one you're referring to must be in the back room, FNG :D

Gruhns is a pretty cool shop. Wonder if he would give us the special Guild tour?

I really don't understand left handed guitar players. I mean each hand is doing something entirely different anyway and it's not something that you learn doing some other function in life, so why is it so hard for a lefty to play a right handed guitar.
Still the guy that amazes me the most is Dan Seals. Check this out. Playing a right handed guitar strung an' fitted as a right handed guitar, upside down left handed. Now how do you cop this guys licks?

Being lefty and playing on righty strung guitar is what made the great Albert king style and phrasing so distinctive.
Also Eric Clapton has a guitarist in his "crossroads" staff who is lefty playing right strung, seen here (he is taking the first solo playing on a lefty strat but strung righty):

I guess it's like learning a whole other instrument.....

Hey BP, I'm not pickin' on them. I think it's just incredible that they do it that way because it would seem far harder to learn that way

Oh I knew you were not picking on them.... :) and I fully agree, it seems like more work, for starters they have to create their own chords on a reverse string set!!! Good luck with that..

I didn't see many Guilds in there last month. Perhaps I missed that back room too?

Sweet! I think Gruhn keeps the good stuff upstairs.

There were a couple of old leftie country blues singers (name, or names escape me)who played a rightie guitar backwards, leftie guitars were not exactly common or affordable back then , or now for that matter! I was going to mention Bill Staines, but got beat.

Thanks for the clip TMG, that is the second Youtube I have seen of her playing that Guild, even though she seems to hang out with Taylors more. She is one of the reasons I picked up the guitar again in retirement.
