Yes! Guitar Center/Musician's friend.I think you're right that the D-26 was a Guitar Center exclusive.
That's true. Maybe scalloped bracing, as shown in the catalog, would explain why they gave it a unique model number, Chris. I definitely like the look of the African mahogany back with light stain. Very nice.Yes! Guitar Center/Musician's friend.
My question, and I don't recall knowing this before: Scalloped bracing?
I actually recall the D26 being a fancier D25, (D4 - D4G - D25 - D26) but scalloped bracing would almost make it a separate entity.
And it doesn't have scalloped braces, does it?Two Corgis is probably the most knowledgeable on them. His unabashed gushing about his...especially the light hog stain...led me to look for mine.
I played it the other night...Hello In There....for Dreadnut...closest I have to his D25
I'd be suprised. And it doesn't have scalloped braces, does it?
Indeed. Mine was flat out the best "D25" I've ever played or owned, and the prettiest too. Even had some great bearclaw in the top.Two Corgis is probably the most knowledgeable on them. His unabashed gushing about his...especially the light hog stain...led me to look for mine.

Just remembered another detail: the white binding. D25's had black with a very fine white stripe around the top, so basically "reversed" color scheme.Indeed. Mine was flat out the best "D25" I've ever played or owned, and the prettiest too. Even had some great bearclaw in the top.
Another one I probably shouldn't have sold, but I was migrating to wider nuts at the time. When last seen, it was living with @Texasdave75229, but I don't think he owns it anymore.
It was the D26.One of these models was a special run for Guitar Center, was it not? A fancy or upgraded D25? Or am I thinking of another model?
I'm pretty sure it was from Guild (FMIC). Back when I was writing for TCG Magazine, I often made inquiries to various companies while doing research for articles. I don't remember what I asked, but I got that description and this serial number list (for the D-25). Don't get excited, the serials are the same ones that were posted on FMIC's mrgearhead.net back in the day which happen to be the same ones on the current Guild website. Is that Guild lit with the scalloped brace reference? I note some grammar errors and wonder if it's actually from a seller or maybe GC lit of the time? Photos look like maybe tuners are already age-tarnished, too.
Pretty guitar, Sandy! Any idea what year it was?Indeed. Mine was flat out the best "D25" I've ever played or owned, and the prettiest too. Even had some great bearclaw in the top.

Even if it is actually Guild lit I still suspect it's in error. For one thing it just wouldn't make much sense to scallop-brace the top of a D25.
Wonder if it might have been edited by the same poor over-worked soul who assigned the rosewood pickups to the '97 Polara?
I think they were only made in 1995, and there aren't a lot of them. I wouldn't mind having this one back.Pretty guitar, Sandy! Any idea what year it was?
Got it, thanks! Marvin Myopia must have been editing, then.I'm pretty sure it was from Guild (FMIC). Or make that flapping sound like when you clip a playing card on to your bicycle's fork to brush the spokes.I feel like a D25 with scalloped bracing might possibly explode when playing an open chord.

The pickup column on the Polara says "Rosewood".Just remembered another detail: the white binding. D25's had black with a very fine white stripe around the top, so basically "reversed" color scheme.
