Bit of a long shot I know, but I'm just curious on the off chance that someone here might have played both of these and could offer a comparison?
As per my other thread, I was originally looking at a used D4 which is at the top end of my budget, but then stumbled on the D-240E which looks to be a direct homage to the old archbacks, and might just scratch my D4 itch at a third of the price.
I'm sadly unable to play either of them in the flesh, but going off videos the D-240E seems to offer the signature guild sound and looks great value for money. I also realise that it's probably not a fair comparison due to fact that D4's will have aged wood of around 30 years. BUT, they are both entry level models, so...
How close do you think it would come to a D4?
P.S. I have considered the D-140, but I'm not a fan of high gloss finish guitars.
