I am trying to revive my 1980 d40 that I abused severely as a youth. The pick guard had shrunk among other Things It's raw wood under the pick card. Should I put lacquer on the raw wood before I put another pic guard on. I saw some of the internet luthier guys saying they put liquid superglue- C A glue over the raw wood. There's only one little spot where some of the top came up with the pick guard. The rest of it is in is pretty good shape. There's a crack at the sound hole right under the fretboard. Lacquer, shellac, super glue???
Anyone know where to get a replacement pick guard
