I was thinking about replacing my old Black Starfire III I sold a ways back but I'm leaning towards a 70s D50

I have a '95 DV-62 for sale that would run about half what a D-50 will ...

I'd love to spring for a D50 or the likes now but need to get past my next surgery and sell a few more of the herd.
The problem is there are so many great Guilds and only so much time left.

I'm happy to say that after several years I've got the Guilds that I want. I've been playing my JF30-12 the last few times, but yesterday I picked up the F512. I couldn't believe it. It blew me out of the room. Such a huge sound! What a fantastic guitar.

I did pick up a Gibson J165 recently, and I'm letting go my Gibson Songwriter 12-string -- it's very nice, but it can't compete with my Guilds. One Gibson In, one Gibson Out....

I think I will change my mind. Still really want one of these - I think this is a GF60 -
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I do like the 70s F40s too. So many Guilds, so little time.

I believe it is actually an F46, which is an earlier version of the GF60R

Not in the cards right now, discretionary funds too low, but I'd really like to get a NH era F50 RW or a Hoboken era D40.

For me, probably a D-20; maybe another all-mahogany dreadnought or a Bluesbird. But it could definitely be something I'm not expecting! (And recently I've been thinking about a Les Paul, which might be more practical to get than another acoustic but would push my next Guild purchase out a good bit.)

I'm not sure, he had both F-46 and GF-60 (both types were sold at his auctions) but I believe Hans had said the pictures showed him with the GF-60R. But I'm not 100% sure there was a definitive answer here from Hans about both pictures (the other picture was the outdoor one where he was standing next to one)...

Lots of great ideas but just received a 96 D50NT that's pretty nice although in putting new 12s on it discovered there's a 1st fret buzz on the high E. I then discovered that the 2 unwound B -E strings from the old set were both 15s so there might be a need for a new nut but my luthier has much more knowledge than I.
There's only one more guitar on my list and it's a Martin 00042-12 since Guild currently has no custom shop. i made contact by email and phone. Counting my quarters until June '24.

I wish that I could play all of these Guild models that are no longer for sale new. Buying with my eyes can be disappointing. There is a New Hartford D-40 for sale at my local shop that I might try.

The diamond neck inlays are larger on the F44/46 than on the GF60M and GF60R.

Here is my GF60R for comparison
