If this has been discussed here earlier, I apologize. Other than the model number difference, is there any real difference between these two models or the F412 and the JF65-12?

Other than an abalone sound ring and an ebony bridge on most/all of the JFs, not much, steam; I think they have otherwise identical appointments. Westerly adopted the JF model naming, as you described, from early '90s (I think) until closing in 2001. It was either Corona (if they built any 12s, not sure) or Tacoma (definitely) where Guild went back to the traditional F name.

Also, a shift to scalloped bracing occured some time after leaving Westerly.

The latest New Hartford F-412/-512s have re-introduced the abalone sound ring along with a myriad of other changes. But that's outside the scope of your question.

Thanks, Chazmo. You see both on eBay, and the prices usually seem slightly lower for the JF series, so I was curious.

Less recognition of what the model actually is. Big mistake (in my opinion) that Guild ever screwed around with the existing model names... I mean, everyone and their uncle knows the iconic F-50, but very few know that a JF-65 is the same guitar (essentially). Makes for a good bargain, actually. But, you'll have the same issue with resale as everyone else.

We all know that Guilds are made to be played. But few ever quote the second part of the mantra - Guilds are made to be bought. Not sold.
