I recently adopted a well-loved, though non-original 1973 Gibson L6-S, which had these two pickups in it: Dimarzio "dual sound" super distortion (which I believe were actually stock on Guild S-300 guitars?) and Seymour Duncan "DD" which I understand is nowadays called the the "Distortion" humbucker.

Both seem to be at least around 40yrs old and do show play wear but work great and were hooked up to multiple mini toggles for phase and single coil operation, all of which worked flawlessly. I only play clean with a touch or reverb though, so hot pickups like these are not really my cup of tea. In fact, they've already replaced in this Gibson by a Bartolini single coil and a vintage Guild LB-1, which are much more suited for my playing.

Anyway, I'd prefer a trade of some sort... maybe for other guitar or bass pickups or hardware (Guild/Hagstrom bass bridges, Bigsby b5/b50/b500, Gibson TP6 tailpiecce, cool/unusual knobs, tuning machines...) I also like Thomastik Infeld flatwound guitar strings, could possibly use a non-carpeted 1 space rack case, spare 12ax7 or 12at7 tubes, 6L6 pairs, a spare speaker cable or angled 1/4" instrument cable, perhaps a compact mixing board... but open to offers in general, so feel free to throw other ideas out there

I'd also be happy to let them go for $100 for the pair and will donate $10 to the forum. If you were to buy them new, the current versions of these both go for $99 each, but if you're putting them in a nice old guitar with patina, ya don't want brand new squeaky clean ones anyway, right?

Also willing to separate them if you want just one or the other - just figured they're comparable pickups in their intended applications so maybe they both appeal to the same kind of player

Would prefer to keep this deal within the continental US though, partially due to crazy cost of shipping these days, but also because the last 2 packages I sent internationally were BOTH lost in transit with USPS just shrugging off my insurance claim because their records showed the package arrived in the country of destination... so I hope you'll understand that I'm just not trying to throw more gear and money in the garbage bin.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear about the losses. Insurance only is covered when it is in our country. Once it's in someone else's custody, it's on the receiver's postal system. 😕

Thanks, no huge deal, just a little frustrating after paying extra for insurance, but I can understand the flip side of the argument too... Now I just look at it as a learning experience and correspondingly prefer not to take the risk of the international route. Plus, these pickups aren't rarities or collectibles, so I'd expect there would be opportunities to find em closer to home in most countries/continents
