I just took out my DV-62 to give it a spin. Boy, does the DV series really sound great. I've owned a DV-52, a DV-72 and now this DV-62, and all of them have been cannons. The quality of the woods tells the tale.
Oh no! I'd forgotten that was out there.I like this old Westerly Guild website: http://westerlyguildguitars.com/guitars.html
And check out the Source for their DV72 page!
D30Man, the DV-72 is a RW guitar with a sitka spruce top.I have never owned one in this series and I look forward to doing so one day. I came close to Buying West R Lee's I believe 5 or 6 years ago.
Tom - The DV72 is Maple, correct? I would love to get one in Maple. I have been bonding heavily with the F47M that Grassdog sold me a few months ago. It is a classy little grand orchestra guit.
Wiley Pickett,No, the DV72 is rosewood. No maple versions were made of this model so far as I know.
I'm very fond of the DV series guitars too -- I'm currently on my second DV72.
BTW Rich, I recently traded Richard for my old JV72 back. It had three owners after me (including you, I believe) but has come full circle and is not going anywhere. Playing it again, I can't figure out for the life of me why I sold it in the first place.
Thanks for being a good steward while you had it -- it sounds as great as it ever did!
I can hardly believe I gave my DV52 to my son. I really love that kid. He can really pick and sing!
Not a bad mission to be on!Falling in love with a DV-52 is on my list of things to do.
