I caught this sunlight beaming on the DV72 top today, and though NOT a photographer, thought this silking was kind of pretty.

You know, silking is really interesting. My F-30 has a lot of it, and as West shows, the way the sunlight hits it can make a big difference in how it looks. Sometimes at the right angle, it even disappears. Cool stuff!

I took those pictures as it struck me as so interesting Walrus. Iridescent really. Different angles show different shades and patterns. Just a beautiful thing of nature really.

The DV72 has gotten quite a bit of play these past few days and it has reminded me of why I love her so much and have chosen to keep her. Late this afternoon, with the sun getting lower in the sky and striking the top and that particular angle, I began to put her away, then stopped and took a long look. Not just this guitar in particular, but many guitars for that matter have something about them that is exceptional, or unique. Just the beauty of high quality woods is something that we take for granted from time to time......I know I have. Anyway, out of appreciation for that particular top and beautiful woods in general, I had to take a picture, or 3.

Yeah, I usually take a little time to admire my guitars. They're just so darn admirable!

Beautiful Coug. Pretty stunning actually. I sort of think of 'Silking" as small waves of color. "Amber Waves of Grain"! Sounds familiar  .
