I've bounced back and forth, as many of us have, over the years. At this point in life I prefer:

The sound of JP 80/20s

The durability of Elixer Nanoweb 80/20s

The economy of Martins

So I use D' Addarios

I'm sure I'll have a change of heart, come the next string thread...

Am i the only one who uses Martin SP lights?

Used to, good string, don't like that the B and E are gold colored. I know it is weird, but I need those to be silver.

Hey Jeffro22:

I am not a real big fan of Elixir Nanos or D'Addario wraps, but I use them quite a bit. I really like the Elixir Nanos better, but they are getting expensive. So, when I ordered from MF on their labor day sale to stock up on strings, the Elixir Nanos are not that much better than the D'Addario wraps. So, I got several of them. But, I got some plain strings, too. Thinking about going back to them. Sound better and cheaper. I like the D'Addario's, the Martin 140's the best on my Guild, preferabbly in bronze 80-20.

Sperry, I think Two Corgis uses them too, but being the Scot that he is, its because he buys them by the gross when they go on sale...:tongue-new:

Guilds ship(ped) with D'Addario EXPS mostly, and after trying about everything on the planet, those may be the go to string for my D55...GHS
Bright Bronze would be real good in a pinch...I am loving the particular set of DR Rares on my F47R right now, neither GHS or LaBella did it for me
on that guitar.

I recently put a set of nanoweb 80-20's on my Hummingbird. Frankly, it's the first time I've really liked the sound of that guitar in the ten years I've owned it.

I'm using Guild equal tension lights on my D55, real nice for finger picking and still has that nice powerful base.

I agree with Woody. Gold strings are weird. Except, perhaps, on a guitar that has gold tuners. Then they might be cool.

maybe that's it. I have spectrums on my F50, and they look right! before my F50 I never even liked gold hardware!
