I have serious crush on Emmy, and her voice, and that huge Gibson Jumbo that is bigger than she is. Here she is with her band Spyboy performing the Daniel Lanois song "Deeper Well". Daryl Johnson on bass, Brady Blade on the skins, and Daniel on the lead guitar. (Hey Joe only watch it 800 times I won't tell Cindy!)

Back to her folkie years, from a radio show with David Bromberg, love to hear more from that show.

Could never understand how she connected with TVZ so early. In an interview she mentioned that after she moved to NYC she heard Townes at Gerde's Folk City in 1968 and was captivated by his music. I find the vibrato interesting, a lot of the female folkies back then had it, Baez for one and especially Buffy Sainte- Marie, and Emmylou was a huge fan of Baez. I believe Emmylou who was the one who said paraphrasing, all the girls wanted to be Joan, and all the boys wanted to date  her. Bromberg was also a big fan of Townes.

There are two guitar types I would love to try, not necessarily to purchase. One is a Gibson J200/300, and the other is a J612, though I'd settle for a J512. I did try a pretty beat-up Epiphone version of the J200 and it was a very nice guitar. If I needed a beater Jumbo that would have been in the cards.
Like many, Emmylou has a bazillion guitars. She has played many J200s in her career, probably the most famous being the Black Rose. She also has a Gibson signature model which I believe is a thinner version of the J200. She also plays/has played several OM Martins especially when soloing. No Guilds alas.
