I'm selling my F-40 Jumbo, yeah, why would I do that! It's ok, still have 2 Guilds left!
A potential buyer asked me if it's traditional or standard. I didn't see any markings or anything in the original paperwork. Purchased new in 2019. Don't recall seeing anything on the Guild website other than the model I have.
Serial #C193754, if that helps.
Any ideas on this?

It's stamped on the neck block

Mine says:
F-40
TRADITIONAL

Oh, and I think the finish is satin on the Oxnard F-40 standard. At least it was in the last iteration.

Both types are on Guild's site now.

Be aware as well that until 2018 the F40 (and F47) were 16" lower bout "Grand Orchestra" design.
Oxnard changed it to a 17" jumbo body.

Many F40 traditionalists will not want that body. You'd be doing yourself a favor to ensure prospective buyers are aware of the lower bout width, or that they KNOW they want an Oxnard F40.

Mine only says F-40, then the serial #, then "made in USA".

One of my other Guilds is the Grand Orchestra Valencia. I've not seen the Oxnard designation before. This one was purchased in new in Oct. 2019. The listing clearly states it's the Jumbo F-40.
If no other indication if it's traditional or standard. Maybe Guild didn't use that for this model in that timeframe?

That's correct, DVX. Your serial number starts with C19, which indicates it was built in Oxnard in 2019.

Anyway, correct... They didn't call it a "Standard" until this year. At that point, it was just an F-40, which was differentiated from the F-40 Traditional. The web page for your model is still available:

(or there's also one for the burst model)

Thank you so much, this provides the clarity I needed!

Fender sold Guild to Cordoba Music Group in 2014, who built a brand new factory for 'em in Oxnard Ca. Prior to that, in New Hartford CN, and even in Tacoma they used/introduced "Standard" and "Traditional" versions of some models (including F40's) which differed slightly in appointments and sometimes things like nut widths.

The "Traditional series" term goes back at least as far as the catalog introduction of the GF series which were Gruhn's ultimate iteration of the Grand Orchestra body. ;)
