wowza! is that more like an F40 body?
wowza! is that more like an F40 body?
Wait a minute...
The buyer is trying to replace an F30-SB that his uncle sold years ago and regretted it. It's a gift for his uncle, so it's important to him to get the exact model the uncle no longer owns. Hopefully I'll have other interested buyers once I get it back.Wait a minute...
Someone wanted to return THAT?
Man, I like a good F-30 as much as the next guy (I own one, in fact), but I would have been hard-pressed to ship this guitar back to you!
I think the date is clear by now...Is the date stamped into the headstock under the serial number? That could help with the date. Late '87 they started doing that, and continued into mid '88? Anyway, it may be there if it's early 88.
Current management at Oxnard knows absolutely nothing about that period of Guild history,Here is the link to models and serial numbers for all Guild guitars. It seemed a bit confusing to me as well based join the information on your label. I would recommend you check this list as I came to the conclusion the instrument was made in 1987 based upon the serial numbering. http://support.guildguitars.com/2012/dating/Dating_Your_Guild.pdf
Check it out and contact Guild directly to try and lock down the date and specifically the model and serial number of your instrument.
Yes, the GF's are the '80's version of the F40 family and introduced rosewood to the 16"F-body for he first time.wowza! is that more like an F40 body?
I would too, but when they come up for sale they are usually cheaper than an F30.I thought hard about this one. It's a gorgeous example and they are great guitars. I'm still waiting for a rosewood GV/GF because i have a maple guitar already but it was very tempting. Sorry for your aggravation. As someone else said, I would much MUCH prefer a GF-30 to an F-30.
You could list it here on the LTG and save some Reverb hassle. The buyer is trying to replace an F30-SB that his uncle sold years ago and regretted it. It's a gift for his uncle, so it's important to him to get the exact model the uncle no longer owns. Hopefully I'll have other interested buyers once I get it back.
That's a good idea. It seems like a smart thing to do. Thanks.Yes, once you get your post count up to 10 you can list the guitar here (and Reverb, too). One more post to go!
