CC earned his feed tonight.

Hey Effin.....did you happen to see the kid from Japan shut out the Yanks tonight. Darvish pitched 8 1/3 and had the Yankees a bit flustered and threw a 2-0 shut out.

Can't take offense to that, because we Twins fans have seen it all too often before. Funny thing is, they couldn't wait to get out of the concrete toilet that was the Metrodome, and they move into beautiful Target Field and the Twins hitters immediately start complaining that it's too hard to hit home runs there.

Funny, it never seems to bother the opponents, as evidenced by the Sox going deep five times in the two games so far.

And for some of us National League fans :) ... Happy (40th) Birthday Chipper http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.js ... y&c_id=atl

I actually used to be an NL fan Ravon. When I was a kid, the Astros were the rage. I'm talking Rusty Staub, then Mike Scott and Jauquin Andujar days. But man, after decades of watching the Stros develop players, then send them packing to teams willing to pay........well, it got very, very old. I hung in there for a long time, but Drayton McLane is running a farm club disquised as an MLB team down there.

I will say this, as a baseball purist, I'm not a big DH fan. To me, pitchers are players too. But as a kid, aside from going to the dome in Houston, I'd also go to games at the old Arlington Stadium. For many years, the Rangers had much the same fortay as the Stros it seemed, but then with the signing of Nolan Ryan so many years ago, I jumped on the Rangers bandwagon in earnest and have never looked back. I was lucky enough to watch Nolan pitch a 1 hitter and was there the night he threw his 5000th strikeout.

Being in my part of the state (west Ky.) I'm supposed to be a Cardinals fan but dad started following the Braves back in the early eighties when Darrell Murphy was playing so naturally I gravitated towards the Braves. I've got a brother in Cincinnati.... at least they're in different divisions  . Oh yeah West, I've always been a big fan of Nolan Ryan even after the move to the Rangers. I have a nephew that just landed a job in Wichita Falls so I'm certain he'll be following the Rangers, it'll give me an excuse too :)

Watched the whole 9. Proof positive RS can hit mediocre pitching but can't pitch to good hitting. Nice to see some heroes popping up: Twins gave up Poppi, Rangers gave up Salty, Yanks gave up Fredo, Aviles comes out of KC, Cody Ross out of Frisco, Sweeney out of Oakland. Go figure.
Wish I had more faith in our "Funny Valentine". What kind of manager doesn't know the opposing pitcher is right handed?
Only 3.5 games out of first. Bull pen looking a little better.
