Right, he "styled", but note how glued down it was in early '66 ("Dippity-Do") compared to late '66, no more Dippity Do

But not yet his natural curls, which didn’t emerge until 1968. He was still using some product.

<<< I've obviously solved the problem of what to do with my hair/lack of hair. The upkeep is a pain in the butt, though.

Yeah, that's why I don't do it.

Instead, I made myself a DIY Flowbee using an electric clipper zip-tied to the nozzle of a shop vac. This solves the problem of using a clipper on thin wispy remains of hair that don't stand up to be cut. Whenever my hair gets that crazy-old-man thing going, I buzz it down to 3/8" with that. Easy and no mess.

I just shampoo with Nair.

When I turned 65 (18 months ago) I promised myself if I still had hair I would ditch the corporate look and do what I wished I could have done years ago. So this happened...

So far.jpg

Now I have very different follicle challenges, and it's not all one color anymore (this pic does not show the gray), but no regrets. My goal is to reassess at 70 and go from there.

Unless it drives me crazy before then.

Yeah. I've bought a couple of hats from Meyer the Hatter in New Orleans. And I have a wool driving cap from the Irish Shop that fits. But those are nice hats. Casual ball caps are still hard to find. I have one that I got at Target with an embroidered hula girl on it, and two from Lands' End that happen to fit (lucky, because I bought them on clearance for $2 each to get free shipping on an order). But the hat Guild sent me in my loot pack when the D-55 was replaced does not fit, just like most other cool ball caps that I cannot wear.

At least I don't have it as bad as my late brother did. He had an even Bigger Gianter Head, and when he joined the Shriners, he had to have his fez custom made. I tried it on, and it fell down over my ears. It was like a felt-covered wastebasket.

This was probably why our mother hated us, if you think about it. :D
I’ve given up on ball caps. I’m a 2XL Arai helmet head, so it’s fitted hats for me. Straw in the summer, wool in the winter.

My Halloween gigging hat:
Reminds me of the H.L. Mencken quote: "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats."

God made some with beautiful heads and wanted to show them off.
The others He covered with hair.

They are out there. You have to go to a real hat shop. Sized hats are usually better than XL, XXL et al. They are harder to find, like EEE shoes vs. wide shoes. I personally like hats and have a bunch. They are just as important in the summer when one’s dome shaped solar collector is soaking up all those rays.
I wear a baseball cap styled cap whenever outside. Summer is to reduce sunburn, Winter is for warmth and the other 2 seasons are out of habit. I have 3 full brimmed hats which were purchased in person to assure fit=size 7 5/16......my head is pretty large too = extra large
A boss of mine, decades ago had, a sign in his office: "God made only so many perfect heads, the rest HE covered with hair"
