Mrs Mushroom and I have booked out our Friday evenings for a vinyl session in front of the fireplace while it’s winter here.

Tonight’s selection is….

In my mind, this is a really great record.

Where are you located, mushroom? I'm lamenting a bit that I haven't use my fireplace at all the past few years. It sounds like you and Mrs. mushroom have the right idea!

I'm thinking Australia because of other comments made.

I got to find me a turn table and start getting in albums. Sounds like a good hobby for me as I age.

Have you been able to stop at just one album per Friday night? I think I'd want to keep going!

Love ‘em or hate but PiL are great.

“Album” is a fantastic slab of a record and this is the live concert of that offering.

I pilfered this review of the band from the web to describe TOH

The too-cool-for-school metropolitan punk elite, who never felt any inclination to consult music press weathermen to tell them which way the wind blew, were left in a quandary when Adam Ant went pantopop. They needed a new champion. Diehard Ant loyalists transferred fealty to Bow Wow Wow, the sex gang Sioux went Bauhaus, but the alpha males – the psychobilly-literate, handy-fisted tattoo pioneers – embraced Theatre Of Hate.

We are in a small apartment, for now, so my turntable, Bose speakers and 700+ vinyl album collection are all in storage waiting for a move to a bigger place. I miss having it out and available.

There were about 10 years when I didn't even have a TV. Guitar and my vinyl records were my main entertainment.

My Dad was an audiophile from the days of "Hi-Fi" (High Fidelity) and taught us kids the proper way to handle and care for records. So, I still have all mine from my teenage days through the mid 1980's when CDs started taking over.

Mrs Mushroom grew up in Manchester UK in the 70’s and 80’s and saw some awesome bands when they were still in their “pub gig” phase. And subsequently has a lot of their early singles and albums.

All of this provides for some great pickings for me.

We’ve got a separate vinyl system (valve) to out cd system.
