Wondering if any folks round these parts have had a chance to play the Furch 2D-SR model and/or any other Furch model for that matter. I've played this model (and a whole bunch of other Furchs) at a local shop as the shop is an actual Furch dealer . . . They are solid guitars through and through - the model I'm looking at is from their vintage line and it does check most, if not all, the boxes. The model definitely does it's own thing which I am absolutely down for (cue "Which of These Kids is Doing His Own Thing") . . . Any thoughts and/or experiences with Furch guitars?

I had my son in law drop by the Nashville Furch dealer to try out a high end model (Red?) that was marked down. His assessment was that it was more Taylor like than expected and he had a hard time trying to put it in a category. He didn’t play the vintage 2 D-SR, so that might have the bottom end plus playability I hoped he would find.

I've been owning a Furch for 7 months now, and I haven't played much of any other guitar I own since then. I bet it's at least as good as any of my other fancy guitars then, and possibly much better : time will tell (I always get very enthusiastic about my new guitars, and it lasts for quite some time - over a year at least -, till something makes me change and prefer an other one :) ;) )... It might be as little as inconvenient strings, lack of amplification, not set up to stand up, too nice to risk its being damaged or stolen in lousy contexts, some technical problem, or else... So don't trust me I'm not serious (they are cheaper here than American guitars and we'd rather keep it so - no, you don't need them around 😄 -)...

Do you have picture of the Sitka walnut that we can drool over?

I bought a new phone, but I haven't unboxed it yet : so it might be some time till I can use it and post photographs (I only had a 20 euros small telephone up to now - sorry not really addicted to new technologies - and I couldn't upload photpographs from it). Maybe you've missed photographs I posted already though (post #6 to 10) done from my computer (that I couldn't move 🙃 ). Quality is poor but you'd see a bit of the walnut back (post #7) www.letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/ngw.216209/
Not a fancy guitar, blue series (open pore finish, no pearl, no pretty rosette, no nothing), but ready to play and with everything that really matters for it...

I could ask my son in law to stop by the Nashville Furch showroom in search of a 2D-SR. He is a professional musician and I trust his ear when it comes to string instruments.

I've tried a few Furch models, and I've gotta say, they make some seriously good guitars. The craftsmanship and tone are top-notch. The vintage line has a unique charm, and if it checks your boxes, you might be in for a treat.

Don't send the money too soon if he says it's worth it, you might not get the guitar in a long time :giggle: (unless you are interested in a vintage Vintage 2 - one gets easily hooked on those guitars its seems -) 😉
