I'd love to get my hands on the JF4 for a reasonable price, if I ever see one again.

The GAD JF-48 is out, because there's no cutaway.

I actually picked up an Alvarez (gasp!) for under $300 - it should arrive sometime this week. I'll give it a once over, and if everything looks good, present it to him as an option. So far he likes the price, we'll see what shape it's in when it gets here.

I've two...bought the 1st one (in avatar) new, picked up the 2nd used, w/ hsc, for $550...see 'em around that on Ebay from time to time.

Thanks for pointing that out. For whatever reason, I had convinced myself that the JF4 has a cutaway. Odd! I probably had it confused with the F4CE and the F47CE.
