Because this thread is slowly evolving let me reiterate for those who are not reading everything.

The article, which was written by Cillian Breathnach and published at guitar.com, suffers from errors and omissions.

Guitar.com claims to be

The world’s leading authority and resource for all things guitar

. That might be true as long as reliability and accuracy are not required.

There was, at least in my mind, a misunderstanding of the article. I had thought it was written and vetted by Guild and not an independent work promoted by Guild. There is an opportunity for someone to learn more about the brand but that someone does not appear to be a Guild employee as some of us seemed to assume. That distinction is important to me since Guild spreading misinformation about the brand's history is much bigger problem than some web based writer who just needs an editor or fact checker.
