It was Richie Havens’ guitar mate Paul Williams. Though I think there is some controversy about the model used. I would trust the opinions here, but there is a good article about acoustics at Woodstock that (incorrectly) thought it was a D55. Fun reading in any case.

Here you can get a close up of Paul’s Guild. Doesn’t look like a D55 to me, clearly an F body shape so an F47 seems likely.

Confirmed as an F47 by Hans years ago. Chesterfield on that headstock shape, with block inlay fretboard, on that body, are unique.
Also has the original a/e factory pickup installed.

Fresh from the acronym soup posts in the ROTD thread... methinks facts "confirmed by Hans" like my F112 being made in Hoboken even though 1968 production should from here on out known as CBH.

Just as long as there's no troublesome side effects.

To add to all that has been said. I would think any artist that featured a Guild guitar on their album cover should automatically be included regardless of how old the album is. As you all have said this is Guild history! Here are a few I can think of but there must be more.

George Benson- The Other Side of Abbey Road

George Benson- Bad Benson

John Denver- Poems, Prayers and Promises

John Renbourn- The Black Balloon

Btw in the grand tradition of the veer here's a magnificent interview with Towner, especially for the Jaco Pastorius anecdote:

Right. And the guitar on the cover's a '67 (or even more likely '66 given the album was released in '67) at latest with a thru-saddle without a chesterfield, whereas the Woodstock guitar had a drop-in and chesterfield:

Wonder how many there were between? :D

In fact I wonder if he asked for a drop-in because the thru-saddles slipped under his playing style? Idle curiosity.

Years ago Ralph Towner had concert here in Tampere - sold-out by the time I found out. On the day of the concert the news came, that his guitars got lost in transit. So trying to be helpful I packed my F212 and went to the club. I was there when he came and offered help. He did not even answer. Obviously his guitar was safe. I heard afterwards that the concert was good.

Along with album covers, should we include music videos of hit songs?

If we are going to do that, which I am not really going to recommend based upon the status of and duplication with existing threads, then let us agree on the ground rules so a moderator who is having a bad day has grounds for massive deletes of material that is a veer and does not fit.

Regardless of the rules for the new thread if we actually get there I don't think a magazine cover of a magazine published by Guild really fits the spirit.

That was just an image to show everyone who Johnny Rezmick is and his relationship to Guild. I only asked about videos. But you make a good point about other exisiting threads, so even I vote "no" for my suggestion...

Was that supposed to be an ad or a magazine story? Either way, the writer and his editor should be fired! Jeez! 😤

That's a story on Reznick and his use of Guilds. Guild Gallery's were sort of a combination of catalogs and a magazine.

Here's a link to that particular one, courtesy of GAD:
