Thanks in advance for your time and attention. I recently bought a Guild D25 that I have been unable to date with the online serial number resources. It's a great playing guitar and I'm happy with my purchase. I'm hoping someone here can give me a little more information about it.
The label under the sound hole includes the model D25 and the serial number CPM000019. I'll try to post some images as well.
Thanks,
Bob Sams

Welcome to LTG, Bob. Yeah, the Corona Guilds can be tricky to date. Someone with a better idea will be along shortly. My guess would be between 1998-2003. That's a nice-looking D-25, congratulations!

Thanks for the welcome and the information. This community is very welcoming!
Hi"CG", welcome aboard! That's a Corona build from late '02 to '03 I think. They only made 'em for about a year there. "CPM" is the prefix for a D25, that's the 19th one built. (@ReevesRd: Corona's flattop production years were '02-'04, but some electrics were built there before the dedicated Guild plant was finished, IIRC.)

They only ever showed up in the '03 catalog. It was a return to the original D25 formula of an all-hog flatback dreadnought.

Welcome to LTG and congrats on scoring a Corona D25! I've had several of these
Corona-era models, all were beautifully built, excellent playing and sounding guitars.
Looking at your serial # ending in 19, I'm guessing yours may have been one of the earliest ones
made in Corona.

Thank you all very much! Clearly I'm in the right place and I must say this community is warm and "in-tune." It's cool that mine is so early in the production run. Just enough made to get the bugs out! (I'm a glass half-full kind of guy.)
I hope I can find a way to contribute as I learn more.
You folks rock!
Thanks again.

There's 2 of 'em up there that'd qualify for "mylanta-colored", right? The Seafoam Green like the bottles and the Honey Blonde like some of the actual stuff?

I think I like your name better either way, though.:p

I'd say #19 is 2002 as it is such an early serial number. Plus that Fender decal was only used in 2002 I believe, and only for the first serial numbers each.
And welcome to Bob! You might even have a look with a mirror under the soundhole, maybe there is a date on the inside of the top near the soundhole when they completed the body. Not sure if they did this in Corona, but always worth having a look.

Hey Ralf, (@SFIV1967) did they quit doing the neck block stamp when they left Westerly??
I don't know for sure but I would say so.
Ralf
They actually stopped stamping neckblocks in Westerly, '99 or '00 IIRC. My '01 F65ce doesn't have one, neither does my Corona D40.
Also I believe they used the Corona headstock decal until they were simply used up sometime in '03.

Hans asked me once if my D40 had one, and at the time he wasn't positive if it was late '03 or early '04. I couldn't remember for sure, but I think it did and I removed it because I was afraid its adhesive might react with the NCL over time.

What I love about the Corona Guild rooftop logo, is that it's outlined in whiteish stuff. Not just a stencil. Well maybe a stencil but a BETTER and more ELABORATE stencil. Or decal or whatever. It'd just better!! (y)(y)
