Look at the Guild NEON sign! Wooowwweeeee! I bet Kurt already has this one.

I'm a little late jumping in here but just for the record, I do not have a neon G shield sign. (I wish I did though!)

It is a wonderful instrument ... and sounds like a cannon. The neck is very interesting in that I find it easy to play finger style as well as chords and solo's. I have had many compliments on it over the years. I saw it at a NAMM show on display and was drawn to it. I bought it on the spot (well they took it off display and shipped it and billed me after). I have even shown it to some of the Fender/Guild guys and they never even knew they existed. This was an experiment with the then CEO and old friend Bill Shultz when he acquired the name from US Musical... It was made in Spring Hill Tennessee in a very small production shop. ... I do not sell or trade my guitars. They all have some personal attachment to me. ..."

If he had given the serial number, I could have dated it for him exactly. Now that I think about it, I believe it's even earlier than 1999.

Just a slight correction on the date. That Nashville custom shop model is (acording to the label) marked with "Concert Hall Classic" and is dated on the label with "Spring/Summer 1997", so a bit older than Sammy thought. (exactly what Hans remembered).

Hats off to the Guild sleuths! I am, continually, amazed at the breadth, depth, and scope of knowledge of LTGers. I, also, like the Guild Mounty, go-find-the-info, stick-to-iveness exhibited. Mounty Motto: We seek. We search. We always get our Guild.

That's one busy headstock, but actually I kinda like it!

Oh, and regarding the one Sam had in his lap, I'd put money on that being before the model-name jumbling of the late 80s... i.e., that's an F-50R.

It's a little bit too much "bling" for me. They copied the colored label design to the TRC, it probably would have looked better without all that extra color.
Also the abalone inlays on the bridge are a bit too much. And the strange pickguard shape is also not my taste.
