Well guys, I restrung this thing up, and I have to say...this is one of the most naturally easy, and warmest sounding guitars I’ve ever owned. I stopped by guitar center today to pick up strings, picked up a few higher end Martins and Taylor’s just for the heck of it and to be honest...wasn’t much of a fan of their tone or playability. Even if I consider myself to have spent 200 bucks on this alone, this to date is my favorite guitar I’ve ever owned. I’m on cloud nine right now. Thank you for all of the insight and friendliness throughout my first post. AND, since I only spent 200 bucks...I’m sure there will be another guild in my collection soon. Happy picking!

Those would have been shipped with the Guild private label version of D'Addario EJ-16 (uncoated PB lights), except the GUIld ste ("L-350") used an .025 G instead of the .024 they use currently.
Every time I try something else I go back to 'em.

I have three Guild Dreadnought, a 2011 D-55, and two Westerly DV-4’s, one gloss finish and one NT or hand rubbed finish. I was very fortunate to purchase the DV-4’s for $300 each, one from a friend and the other from Craigslist. Had but and saddle upgraded to bone, and had pickups installed and they both sound amazing. My luthier, Brother’s Music, has commented on both of these guitars regarding the build quality and the sound. IMHO I think these are the true “sleepers” in the Guild family. Due to the lack of bling most think they are not real players but the folks I play for prefer the DV-4 with the K&K over the D-55 or the Taylor 810. So congrats my friend on getting a true “sleeper deal” from your neighbor. Enjoy!
