Yep...or 13's tuned down. The F20 is built like the LG2, small but sturdy. Once the bridge is back on tight you'll be golden. I have to quiet mine down a little so I lay out 20 bucks for Thom-Infeld Plectrums, but they last a good six months or more.

what year is yours?

any F-20 or M-20 built to Hoboken specs, I'd only use 11s tuned to pitch, or 12s a half step down (which i never do). but thats just me.

You were kind enough to post photos of my F20, looking like 1970, built 'between' Hoboken and Westerly, in another post. http://www.letstalkguild.com/ltg/showthread.php?194630-Headstock-neck-ID-question/page2

It turns out that the neck is original.

I'll know more when I get it back from the doctor, but I like the D-D tuning for vocal range AND hand issues. The intonation is off above the 4th fret though, if minimum sufficient tension isn't there, thus the 13's, but I managed to greatly reduce the discrepancy by tweaking the truss rod. It's going to cost me 200 bucks to get the bridge re-installed and refurbished (cracks), as well as some hairline top cracks fixed. I'll deal with the back cracks. Looks like I'll get away without a reset for a while.

Not bad for a total investment of just under $800. No, make that $950 if you add in the period correct case I stumbled on.

Dropped her off for inspection at the Ol' Luthier and it sounds like a neck reset won't be necessary at this time, unless I get a call after he's got it on the bench stating otherwise ,but initial prognosis is good! Basically looking like a bridge reglue , truss adjustment & full setup, in addition to the somewhat controversial bridge sanding will do the job actionwise. I trust ricks word, he's worked on many a guild and other martins and knows full well that it's Brazillian Rosewood. I also had him check out a couple small cracks that you couldn't really see in the pictures. So he'll fix those up and we should be ready to play for many a years to come. Hardly any belly bulge, but he's going to inspect the inner braces there and around the neck none the less too.

Now I just gotta wait a couple months till its ready!!!:teapot:
