Do any members know anything about 60s F20s........any idea how much they are on the market?
Fretplay,
Several member here own F20s, rarely are they offered for sale.
That said, those here recently purchasing/selling F20's traded for considerably less than the high asking prices seen at some on line dealers. I think Coastie paid less than $800 for his, although his might be a later model.
F20's are not particularly rare & they come around with some regularity, many offered for sale need work.
What is rare are correct hard shell cases for F20's. F20's in the 60's listed new for like $150, most were sold with cheap cardboard cases. The size & shape is unique & no one here knows of a newly mfg'd case that fits. Took me 5 years to find a case for mine & I paid dearly.
I have about $1100 - $1200 US dollars in my 57, $650 of that was repairs. Add the case & I have better than $1400 invested, way too much. It's not for sale but I'm pretty sure I'd get my money back if I was to change my mind. It's a sweet little guitar.
