Do any members know anything about 60s F20s. Do they have any value and any idea how much they are on the market?

Never played one. But, a local shop has a '64 SB for ~$2,000, and there are three on Gbase ranging from $1,100 - $2,500.

It's OK mate, I'm over in the UK in August, I'd be glad to swing by your place and get rid of it for you....

Fretplay,

Several member here own F20s, rarely are they offered for sale.

That said, those here recently purchasing/selling F20's traded for considerably less than the high asking prices seen at some on line dealers. I think Coastie paid less than $800 for his, although his might be a later model.

F20's are not particularly rare & they come around with some regularity, many offered for sale need work.

What is rare are correct hard shell cases for F20's. F20's in the 60's listed new for like $150, most were sold with cheap cardboard cases. The size & shape is unique & no one here knows of a newly mfg'd case that fits. Took me 5 years to find a case for mine & I paid dearly.

I have about $1100 - $1200 US dollars in my 57, $650 of that was repairs. Add the case & I have better than $1400 invested, way too much. It's not for sale but I'm pretty sure I'd get my money back if I was to change my mind. It's a sweet little guitar.

Hi Jeff: your F20 is maple, isn't it? ... and the later models mahogany? Just going by the jabber here and what shows up on eBay, the maple models are less common than mahogany are they not?

Is there a contradiction here or am I confused? Perhaps it means that if you care enough about Guilds to post on LTG, once you get a F-20 you never let it go?

clarification; Rarely do LTG members offer their
F20s for sale. It happens, but not often.

They do come up with some regularity, sold by non believers on ebay & other places.

I got very lucky on my F20. About two years ago, I bought it from Ebay Germany (I'm in Belgium, myself) for 650 euro. No case. Cosmetic condition could have been better, but it didn't need any structural repair (frets etc.) But what a player ! If it sounded more alive, I'd have to get it a social security number !
