Hey guys!
First post here. Im the proud owner of a gorgeous starfire 2 bass, and I’m about to branch out into my first guild acoustic purchase. I’ll cut to the chase…

I’ve lined up a purchase of a Guild OM150 and im collecting mid next week. Very excited. A guild GAD F130 (not the CE) was my initial instrument of choice, and one was for ‘sale’ for silly money, but shortly into the conversation I concluded it was a scam. Anyway - a Guild GAD F130 ce has since popped up for sale at a similar price point to the OM150, so I’d love some opinions - F130ce or OM150? I’m personally not a massive fan of cutaway acoustic guitars, but could be swayed in the name of quality. OM150 looks like it has nicer embellishments… F130ce comes in a hard case… both are discontinued, both solid wood, etc etc.
hoping there’s someone out there who has played both/owned one or the other at some time - there’s not a whole lot out there about the OM150 non cutaways!

Looking forward to hearing your opinions. Thanks!

The OM 150 non cutaway is phenominal especially at its price point if you can find one.

Wonderful - that’s the guitar I’m locked in to buy (for £600). Looks to be in fantastic condition.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t making a mistake by passing up a similar priced F130. Thanks for affirming!

Welcomei jrea. I’m a bit late to the thread but I’ve not observed any significant loss of tone or volume between a cutaway and non-cutaway on similar model OM/F30 size Guild guitars. I don’t think the upper bout does that much to move the sound.

Same here on the cutaway / volume loss topic. My DCE5 ( which I love ) and the DCE3 I had up until recently did not lack any volume. In fact they usually overpower in jam sessions. Arched back probably has a little to do with that...

Even flat back cutaways I have owned still projected nicely. I know there are two schools of thought here.
