Looking to purchase a home for a JF30-12. Guild cases on the Internet go new for $200. I'm wondering who makes them for Fender? TKL looks interesting and I recall mention of that brand on this forum. They have several options within their brand and I'm not certain whether dual neck support is needed etc. Okay...I've tossed the information grenade...have at it!

Merry Christmas All!

My 2005 D-55 came in a TKL case with the Guild name added to it.
TKL makes very good cases and if you get one that is made for a jumbo 12 string, it should be a very good fit.
I know nothing about a double neck support though.

Did the case have a flat top or arched top? TKL makes both with the arched model being about $25 more. They also make a plastic molded case. Anyone have any knowledge about those?

The Martin molded cases are from TKL. My D-35 has one. It's not fancy, but it''s functional.

Mine came with a TKL Prestige case and the Guild tag. I've seen the same case at music stores for a little over a hundred bucks. (minus the Guild tag of course!)

When discussing cases for Guilds, the two ways to look at it is, do we want a case of the same type that was available when the guitar left the factory which will enhance the value of the guitar, or are you looking for basic protection. The investment in a period case, might be a dividend sometime in the future as it could make the sale when and if you decide to sell it.

Good point David, that might matter to some people. I had a nice Martin D-35 for sale last year and lost the first two prospective buyers because it didn't include the original case although it was in a new TKL case that was just a good. However, the third buyer didn't mind.

FWIW, the first thing Mrs. Fro did when her D-25 arrived was swap cases and put her old guitar in the Guild OHSC and the D-25 in the old case. Since they both fit, the cosmetics mattered more than originality.

If you want to stick with the original supplier, TKL was it. Whether or not you want the "Guild" badge/logo on there is up to you. And I've never seen "dual neck support" in a Guild case. Not that I've seen that many, but my buddy's JF30-12 doesn't have it.

The great white north eh!
The OHSC my New Hartford D55 came with is a TKL and has the dual neck support, on a dual neck support case the supports are on each end of the storage box.

Sometimes I wish my case did not say Guild on it because of potential theft.
