On the Artist Award headstock decoration, what does the pitcher/vase with a star shining on it supposed to symbolize ?
Works for meNot sure if that's what the original intention was, but it may have been something simple as Artist = Star and the pitcher /vase could be a Trophy Cup = Award.
Sincerely,
Hans Moust

Wow: I had no idea there were that many variations on the theme.Makes total sense to me, too. I like how the earlier examples of the AA iconography were all done by hand. It wasn't until the 1970s that it was standardized. For examples, see:.JSA and AA Headstock Evolution

The dimensions of the Benedetto designed AA and JSA are different compared to the Guild designed models.I never realized how ugly the top of the Benedetto headstock was!
