Some Guild Guitar models start with DV.
What does this stand for?
Thanks,
TMG.

GardMan said:Dreadnaught Vintage... Someone else will have to explain the details of the "vintage" design specs. I do know they had spruce-top and scalloped bracing, and rosewood B/S. The DV-52 was the least "fancy," with chesterfield headstock, plain dot fret markers on an ebony fretboard... later models had abalone rosettes. The DV-62, 72, and 73 added trim from there (herringbone binding on the 62, block/V fret markers of turquise (lapus?), malachite, or coral on the higher-end models).
That's correct about the DV-4 and DV-6, GardMan, as of this year. Those models didn't make the transition to New Hartford. Clearly part of Fender's globalization.GardMan said:Sorry... forgot about the DV-4 and DV-6. I think the Westerly DV-6s fit into the same "underappreciated" category as the DV-52s. I believe the 4 and 6 are made in Ensenada, MX these days...
