Dreadnaught Vintage... Someone else will have to explain the details of the "vintage" design specs. I do know they had spruce-top and scalloped bracing, and rosewood B/S. The DV-52 was the least "fancy," with chesterfield headstock, plain dot fret markers on an ebony fretboard... later models had abalone rosettes. The DV-62, 72, and 73 added trim from there (herringbone binding on the 62, block/V fret markers of turquise (lapus?), malachite, or coral on the higher-end models).

The DV-6 (in original form as built in the mid to late 1990s had mahogany back and sides. I think the DV-25 was similar (please feel free to correct me if I am wrong). I am certain because I have a DV-6, I don't have a DV-25, but have seen them up for sale on eBay. The DV-6 does give my DV-52 a run for its money, both are really great sounding, the DV-52 has deeper bass, the DV-6 is warmer sounding, more midrange oriented tone.

Hans will know all!

The line also included the JV-52 (jumbo) and GV-52 (mini-jumbo)-- both with rosewood b/s. The DV-52 came in either gloss or satin finish. I know that JV-52 came in satin, but I don' t know if gloss was an option. I have no knowledge regarding the GV-52, other than I want want very badly!

Sorry... forgot about the DV-4 and DV-6. I think the Westerly DV-6s fit into the same "underappreciated" category as the DV-52s. I believe the 4 and 6 are made in Ensenada, MX these days...

That's correct about the DV-4 and DV-6, GardMan, as of this year. Those models didn't make the transition to New Hartford. Clearly part of Fender's globalization.
