I have recently bought the OM150CE. It has a lovely tone, but I find the strings to be a little difficult to press down, which reduces any fluidity in my playing. Has anyone with this guitar found the same, and did a set-up help, please…( Shop purchase, but no set-up as yet)?. And Hi to all members & Admin on my first post…

Absolutely it might help. Especially if the action is high. Good luck & best wishes!

Welcome aboard, Iain!!!!

And, "hi" back from one of the site's moderating staff! 👋

So, if you bought this new from a shop, you should absolutely bring it in to them and let them get your neck figured out. It should definitely not be difficult to play, and if it continues to be that way they may have to fix it or exchange it for you.

That's the beauty of buying a new guitar.

However, if you bought this used, let us know and we'll point to some advice threads regarding various adjustments that might be able to help you.

Again, welcome to LTG!

Welcome to LTG! Yes, a good set-up will get the guitar playing like you want providing there are no underlying issues. Let us know how it turns out and post some pix. We love photos!

Welcome Iain, and if I had to guess, I'd say you're a member of my (Scots) tribe. I had a cousin with the same name. Hopefully there's a good luthier somewhere near you that can get the guitar sorted. It's well worth it!

Hi Two McCorgis! Yes, father was Scottish - from Bannockburn, no less! The last time Scotland beat England! Thanks for your input - I’m taking it in…..

Thanks for the welcome, chazmo! Obviously a friendly bunch, and I’m taking the advice to get a set-up….

I've been there! My dad was born and raised in Edinburgh, and worked for the Metropolitan Police in London before he came to the States to marry my mother. I'm working on my dual citizenship, and may end up retiring over there in a few years.
