Anyone know where one can obtain (factory style) Guild tortoise pick guards?

I'd like to change the black pick guard on My JF30-12 to tortoise, and maybe keep another spare on hand.

Gratis! :)

When I got my D-55, my dealer got me a black one from the Tacoma factory.
I went the other way. Took off the tortise and put on the black.

This same question was discussed several months ago. From what I recall, no good source was identified, but that was before Hew Hartford was fully online.
I would suggest caling the new factory, but then you'll probably have to get the new shape if they'll sell you one.

To match an old shape, you'll probably need to make your own. Pick guard sheet material is available from Stewart MacDonald.

Hey Dave,

I would imagine Hans either has one or can tell you where you might find one.

Hi All,

Whilst we are on the subject: I notice in Hans book there are 2 different types of acoustic pickguards, I notice that the '59 M20 I'm looking at has the earlier type, when did they change ?

Cheers, Ian

I'm not sure where I purchased the material, Stu Mac, or EMI . . . I don't remember. but, I had the black one on my D-55 originaly and like some, I preferred the toroise. So, I purchased the material, I think it comes in 12" x 12" sheets, some with adhesive already installed, others require the pressure adhesive double side tape (3M). Either way, once the original is removed (you may have to put it in a low temp oven to get it back to its origianl state) use that for your template and make it yourself.

D'Andrea makes an old style Guild tortoise-shell pickguard -- pretty cheap as I recall. Self-adhesive back. It doesn't have the Guild brand anywhere on it, but it's easy to spot, even has the bevelled edges.
