2023 Oxnard serial number. Looks like a D-40 Standard with an EIR body. Interesting!

I’m happy to see a new Standard release. Hope to see more.

Quick way to tell a NH Standard from a Traditional was (Italian!) Ivoroid binding vs red "dead turtle," and satin finish (at least on neck) vs gloss nitro. Cannot remember if standards had Chesterfields then...

Same hold true today?

That's GREAT! Although, it's unclear to me what this guitar will be named (or is named). They don't use "Standard" for the other models, but use "Traditional" to indicate something that follows along with the past. I suspect it'll just be "D-50".... Anyway, it's not on the web site yet.

I'm not sure this is technically what CMG will call these, are you guys? They're not on the web site yet. (see above)

Well, GG, all I was really getting at is that it's not a "Standard" series, as was defined in New Hartford.

What you're suggesting is certainly possible. We'll see what the specs say when they get published.

Standard series from NH had no Chesterfield... just the tented Guild in MOP on a rosewood veneer, Bill. I think they all looked like this. Ignore the TRC; that's my own. The original is black plastic.

To be clear, the guitar in the ad *does" have the same headstock as New Hartford's Standard series. At least, I *think* that's a rosewood faceplate with the Standard tent logo. It does look like a gloss neck, though, and that was never true for the NH Standards.

The Standards of past were well made using quality materials, that play and sound great, at a relatively affordable current market price. Exceptional bang for the buck. I would be very happy to see Guildaha reintroduce some sought after models under the Standard banner as long as those core principals are carried forward.

What's invisible, Al? If you're referring to my second TRC screw? Don't worry, I was just experimenting at the time. There's two in there now. :)
