God, that's good. Bonnie is a favorite. And is there a sweeter sound than David Crosby and Graham Nash singing harmonies?

That's two Bonnie Raitt posts with her F-50 in one day...

Right. Sorry about the typo. :D
Not a problem....it's all good.

Isn't Bonnie a piece of work? Think I'll watch her again.
I'm trying to locate a video of her doing Louise, one of my all-time favorites to play and sing and she does a great rendition.

Cheers,
Joe

I love Guild guitars and I always will......

....but that double pickgaurd thing is nothing short of hideous. This is all opinion and opinion is subjective.......

I'm not a fan of double pickguards on anything, including the Everly Bros Gibson, Richie Havens D40, and Bonnie's F50R. It adds nothing to the guitar and eats tone. Considering Bonnies delicate style, she doesn't even need 1 pickguard.

The only thing worse is the Martin "Elvis" model, which has the leather cover... also known as the "tone killer".

God I love that song! I don't think I could ever pick a favorite of hers, but that's definitely one of them. It's so sad though. <sniff>

Louise is on my 'sad song playlist' for those times when everybody's getting too happy! :D
It's a great song, though, and I think Leo Kottke's was the first version I ever heard and then 'adopted' it for myself.

"Louise rode home on the mail train,
Somewhere to the south I heard them say.
Too bad it ended so ugly,
Too bad she had to go this way." :(

I'd better stop...I'm tearing up!

Cheers,
Joe

Yeah, thanks, I saw that one but couldn't get past....the Taylor.
I saw her do it live many years ago and she was sitting on a stool with just her F-50 and no backup musicians. Just Bonnie and her guitar....and Louise. It was spellbinding, to say the least.

Good stuff,
Joe

One of my favorites, no doubt.
I'll bet the two of you could crank out some pretty serious blues together.
As long as all concerned parties are in agreement with the arrangement, that is.

Take care,
Joe

Thanks Joe,
I would agree with ANY kind of arrangement for a dream like that to come true...... 8)

Well, she probably got it for free.

I'm sure it's a nice guitar, it's just not a Guild!

Must have been great. I've never heard her do it solo. My still favorite Bonnie show was an oldie from August of '74 at Aspen CO when she was ...ahem... slightly inebriated. Didn't stop her from rockin' the house though. :D

Thanks for the links to Bonnie. This led to Paul Siebel whom I had not thought about for many years, which was a shame really. He wrote some great songs in his short career. I down loaded lyrics and chords to Spanish Johnny, now to butcher it in my inimitable fashion
