Saw Fountains of Wayne last night at the World Cafe Live at The Queen (Wilmington, DE).

Opening was Marshall Crenshaw, solo, playing his Guild:

Over his right shoulder is a very cool baritone guitar he used to great effect on about half of his numbers.

Great show (both Mr. Crenshaw and FoW), and a great venue. Our first time there, and it is every bit the equal (and possibly better) of the "original" World Cafe Live in Philly.

I saw Crenshaw a few years ago at a small club in Annapolis. Same guitars. Both sounded terrific, but the baritone was very cool and different.

First time I saw Marshall was at the old Bottom Line in NYC. mid 80's maybe :?: :?:

Ram's Head?

We're there several times a year - seeing Junior Brown next month, and Pancho Sanchez in June.
