If anyone has been watching "Daisy Jones and The Six" I spotted a couple of Guild acoustics, both presumably used by the fictional group during their heyday in the mid-1970s. One featured prominently looked like a 1960s F-112 played by the band's leader in concert a couple of times. And one was a dread that I couldn't get a got model read on that Daisy was using to practice on...

I always find myself trying to poke holes in modern-made period shows that use incorrect instruments, but this show appeared to be vetted pretty closely.

I liked the show, by the way, which just finished up as a 10-part series on Amazon Prime.

That series is on my watch list (which is as long as GAD's review queue).

@chazmo : Have a look here, the guitars were quickly discussed in this thread! You think it's a 112 and not a 212? Also which other Guilds did you see?

Yes, I noticed the Guilds, too! I agree they were more about "appropriate instruments" for the time period of the show than they were about "product placement". It's possible the current Marketing Dept. at Guild had no idea.

Or were not consulted since the movie wanted period correct instruments and Guild sells new instruments. This may be one more instance where LTG and Guild differ on the relationship between success in the vintage market and selling new guitars :)

Yeah, I seriously doubt that had anything to do with product placement, walrus. Pretty cool.

Oh, and Ralf, yeah, that could be an F-212, but I think it's a 112 because it has the peaked logo on it (not a chesterfield).

Any pre 1967 (?) F-212 had no Chesterfield:

i watched the show last night (excellent) and took a screen shot showing the 12 string he played in concert. Looks to me the headstock was shaved clean.

Plus, where are the TRC police? Actually, I have no idea where that TRC came from; doesn't look original.

Thanks for this thread. After enjoying the audio version of the original book, I'm midway through the series, and am enjoying it, but I can't see well enough to identify instruments, so I'm glad to know that there are Guilds involved (and that they're using period-appropriate models).

Jeff, you'll see it clearly (if you can) as you get to the end. I think it's either the 2nd to last or the last episode where the 12-string is quite evident. I can't remember when Daisy's practice dread shows up, but it's pretty obvious as well.

Looks a lot like this pretty 1970 F112 currently for sale on the Guitar Center site.
