Wait for Chazmo.

At LMG 2010 we saw examples of the line. There are apparently certain features people expect on a traditional Guild, but some of those are more expensive to produce and do not effect sound, quality or durability. The Standard Series eliminates some of those features in order to meet a different price point. I heard the discussion and it made sense at the time but the only specific I remember had to do with finishes. (What did the bassist get on his IQ test? Drool) Anyway we saw them but the series was not announced at NAMM and so everyone is hoping for an announcement in the fall.

Hi, Burst...

Yeah, this was the thread when I got up at like 5 in the morning the day after our LMG factory tour, head still buzzing, and suffering enormous GAS pains...

My F-212XL Standard has been on order since May, but the order hasn't officially been taken since the product line is not announced yet. Unfortunately, I have asked a couple of times since LMG if I could divulge more details, etc., but that's just not kosher.

Those of us who were treated to the first batch of these babies at LMG were very excited about them. Indeed, the introduction is supposed to happen in late Sep. or Oct. at this point. We'll see. Cross your fingers.

The great white north eh!
Yeah this sounds really promising for guild! It sounds a little bit like the Westerly DV-52 or DV6 kind of range guitar. I am looking forward to seeing (and hopefully playing) these gitboxes.
