Hello,
I am new to this forum and would appreciate any input. I recently started to study jazz guitar and just picked up a 1998 Guild X-170 Westerly in very good condition. The previous owner played this guitar very little. The only issue is that he removed the pick guard wanting to emulate Wes Montgomery's style.
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could purchase an appropriate guard with brackets for this guitar. Also I would appreciate if anyone knows the size and thread of the original screw.
Thank you,

Wes Montgomery's L5-CES always had a pickguard, at least in any of the pictures I've seen. He played with his fingers splayed across it, and one of the fingers always touched the top of the guitar, eventually wearing away the finish. When the guitar was restored, the person doing the work inlaid a contrasting piece of wood in the damaged area in the shape of a heart.

Hello,

Thank you for all your input. As Hans has already mentioned, he was able to help me acquire the proper pick guard.

In regards to the Wes Montgomery style, I was that it was the reason the guard was removed. Either way, their is no signs of wear on the top of the guitar.

Best regards,
