Ok, I know I posted before, but I immediately sent it off to my guy for new frets (12” radius board), K&K pure mini, and strap button. Oh, and new tuners to replace the replacement gold wafflebacks someone installed decades ago. Action is 6/64”, but 5/64” is possible and it doesn’t seem like it’s ever had a reset.

It is glorious!!!

That is a fantastic burst E-Type. Sometimes a little TLC can do wonders. Enjoy.

Good time for a family portrait of sorts. On the left, 1974 D-25M, center, 1970 D-25C, and the newest member, the 1973 D-35SB. You may love all your children the same, but I have a feeling the D-35 will become my main go to. The 1974 weighs in at 5lb4oz and has the most piano-like clarity. The 1970 D-25 is 4lb6oz and it resonates like crazy. The prob is there are so many vibrations, the K&K pickup gets overwhelmed. My luthier thinks the shaved down bridge might have something to do with that. The D-35 weighs 4lb12oz and has a tone that splits the difference. And while 8 oz may not seem like a lot, it’s a little more enjoyable to play a lighter guitar.

Oh, I prefer the teardrops. That's a beauty!
I think it is just that the teardrop reminds me of Gibson while the thin edge (like on the 1980 below... now at GC!) looks more like a Guild to me. Here is what I call a thin-edge sunburst. I also like the two tone as opposed to the 3. That being said, I love the one I picked up.

I played my 70 D 35 a lot last night. I'd love to compare it to a 73. Love the sunburst action.

Happy NGD part deux! All three of those are all pretty, seeing the years ascribed to them got me thinking now you need a 71 and 72 'something' for the royal flush :)
