To be honest, I had seen in an earlier post that the D50 was introduced in '63, but just wanted to say about the different style of headstock on '62s I believe that 1963 was the year that the change was made, though the crowned headstock does go back further on the Artist Award and Johnny Smith Award.

Yeah, '62 F50's still had "lipstick" headstocks for example, but the whole (flattop) line went "crowned" in '63.
