Fist thing I saw was the bridge, F20's and '30's didn't have points at that time, also, Guild used drop-in saddles until '67.
a '65 should look like this:

Yep. Was primarily responding to Brad's request for "spotting details", posted b-4 I read all replies. Technically a "faux pas" 'cause it occasionally leads to a bit of grief but folks're pretty tolerant 'round here. And I need it in my dotage.

I’m disappointed I couldn’t make a decision, it sounds wonderful and is really comfortable but the bridge is lifting and cracked and possibly could use a neck rest.

It resonated like a guitar should, so I’d like a recommendation. Mind you it’s $740 usd the seller wants for you Americans . For us Canadians that $1000 cad

Here’s some pictures

Oh, that action looks terrible. Return it, Jared, especially if that wasn't disclosed in the ad.

Sorry.
I sent it back and said I’d have to think of it .

I definitely wasn’t going to pull the trigger on something I wouldn’t feel comfortable

At that price, if you have a good tech/luthier that can give you a quick quote on the work and it's reasonable, I don't think that's too bad a deal. Definitely needs a reset.

In the future, Jared, perhaps you can clue us in on the details before you make a purchase decision to help you avoid churn like this and possibly give you some advice. That is, if we can.

Anyway, good luck. I recommend you keep an eye on our online offerings and for sale sections on the board.

So all in for around $1500 USD? I don't think that's so terrible for that guitar. There are also other fish in the sea but tonally, if you think it has some magic, it might be worth it. Only you can decide that.
I think I’ll wait .

Hey, Jared. The lifting bridge isn't such a big deal, but if the bridge plate is chewed up so that the string ball ends are working their way up through the holes, that would add a potential costly issue. The bigger issue for me would be finding a tech who has multiple Guild neck resets under his/her belt, and could give you a realistic timeline for completion. Not everyone tangles with Guilds.
At this price point, there's a pretty good array out there.
