Also the headstock logo ties it all together, complementing the chrome hardware.
And you can see by the overwhelming feedback in favor of chrome that the fashion moguls understand what people subliminally prefer, with color combinations.
Color design especially packaging's a freaking major industry all by itself because it affects people on such a deep level, can turn 'em off to a product before they even known it consciously.

I've got a set of Grovers in gold on another guitar that I don't play so the gold/ebony idea won't cost me any extra and I've got that combo on my LP as well which I like quite a bit. Thanks for the suggestion.
