All is good here, well that is except your guitar. But soon you'll have that problem figured out.

I would say that is a first! Nice job Nash.I just it’s cool that Nash has answered every single reply individually. That’s thorough. He will fit right in here.
Isn't that the truth!! We're just chock-full of amazing information and experience, if we can just remember.Stick around, we have a great community. But the one draw back at times, is that we are old. We need new members.

Haha, yes sir, i hear you there.... i know i know... time to invest more $ on the NEW axe (aside from my $ toward the taxidermy/homage on my deceased baby G) -- thanks again, awesome input. You're welcome
No not a luthier, just been readin' and postin' here for a long time. Have 3 US flattops from '96-'03, all bought new, so a pretty big fan.
We found out about the parts thing on the imports when an owner related his experience here many years ago, around '10 or '11 maybe?.
But just solving the mystery of who made 'em was a pretty significant accomplishment which was largely if not entirely due to our resident sleuth @SFIV1967 (Ralf), who simply likes researching stuff like that. Fender wasn't talking, and Cordoba didn't really advertise it either.
Fender did at least admit maintaining control (purchase and shipment) over the woods used, in order to maintain their QC standards. And the blueprints were Fender owned and created intellectual property, not just cookie-cutter guitars with the Guild name slapped on. (And as far as I know Cordoba didn't acquire the GAD intellectual property rights, that's why they had to re-vamp the line as "the Westerly Collection")
By all accounts they were very very good value for the price. But a funny thing happened to a lot of the guys who joined to share and learn about their new Guild GAD instruments: they kept hearing about that something extra the US-builts had, tried some out, and realized by golly it's true!
Time to graduate, grasshopper.
right on... thank you for that intel! good to know, thanks!Just a little note about the Westerly Collection ( Chinese) models, which may help your selection if you choose to buy one. The first number indicates whether the guitar is all solid wood, or laminate back and sides (all models are solid top). 1 indicates all solid and 2 is for laminate. That is not the whole story though! With the exception of a couple of models (P-240 Memoir and DS-240 Memoir), all the 200 series guitars feature an arched back, without bracing. This has been a feature on many Guild flat top guitars for as long as they have been making them. It's easy to tell them apart visually, as all 100 series guitars have a "Chesterfield" logo, whereas the 200 series just have the Guild name. I believe that all GAD models were all solid wood.
thank you... when you say "the rosewood Martin in the FS section below might work for you" -- what is the FS section? This forum's format is tough to follow, ha, and i can only log on every so often due to my schedule :/ thank you!The rosewood Martin in the FS section below might work for you. Even though not a Guild, buying from fellow LTG members has always been enjoyable, in my experience.
It looks like it sold, but on the LTG home page, the For Sale by members section is lower down. You just need to scroll down.thank you... when you say "the rosewood Martin in the FS section below might work for you" -- what is the FS section? I've been searching for a "this" Guild. They must be rare and worth a lot! I'm an infrequent member, too. Now if you want a rare guitar... I've got this 12 string 1975 Kasuga T-813 (with original bill of sale).... how much is it worth....oops, this isn't Let's Talk Kasuga. Pics next to my 79 F-212XL.The one that always gets me is ........1st post...."I've got this Guild........how much is it worth"?

Thanks!! Bought in 98-99 with a slight bulge at the bridge. I took it to Westerly and they steam pressed the top, but it only held for about a year. I took it back and they put a new top on it. This was the last guitar serviced in Westerly. It was shipped it to the Custom Shop for finishing. My 2nd Guild acquisition, 98 JF-30AB. It's in Excellent condition.
