WW: Your question is way more technical than I can answer. I'm a stricly "analogue" guy with no recording skills. Maybe someone else will weigh in.

Stills is a vastly underrated, IMO, singer, songwriter and guitarist. The Manassas album is one of the greatest albums of the early 70s.

Well just have to disagree on that. Manassas is his opus, in my opinion. It's a masterpiece.

Oh ok I thought you meant his Stephen Stills album from 1970. I agree Manassas is a great great album, and really shows off his range as a writer and player

That first Manassas album is probably the most collaborative effort Stills ever led, largely thanks to Chris Hillman. Also probably the best band of musicians he's ever been a part of.
