...all over the news about big tornados in Dallas and Forth Worth areas. Don't know where everyone is located, do we need roll call as you lift your heads above ground? Hope all have made it through without troubles.

Nothing but rain down South of Fort Worth. Sadly not the same South of Dallas.

My oldest son works about 2 miles from The Ballpark at Arlington and had to seek shelter a couple of hours ago. All headed this way now. Just another spring evening in North Texas. Should be here in an hour and a half or so.

And now...golf ball sized hail. This is when you have to watch the weather around here.

Sheew, not one, but two separate hail storms.....about an hour apart. The first started with quarter sized hail and progressed into a little smaller than golf ball size. The second were only marble size.

I don't think it lasted long enough to do any serious damage, but we'll see. It was a bit hairy as it bounced off these plate glass windows, but they're intact. The great thing is that I'll bet we got close to 3" of rain in the past 2 1/2 hours, and in Texas, we'll never take rain for granted again.

Large hail can be an indicator of tornadic storms, West. But you already know that!

Keep watching the sky tonight, buddy.

I'm hanging in there, West. Things have been a bit crazy. I lost an Uncle and a Mother-in-Law within 5 days. (And I liked my Mother-in-Law. She was in the Marines in WWII... one tough old Okie!)

It's sure good to have guitar-playing to fall back on, sometimes.

Ah I'm sorry Dave. Man it's tough enough to lose one, but two? My mother's sister, my dear Aunt Betty was a Marine Corps Sgt. in WWII, you'd have never thought it if you'd have met her. If I hadn't seen pictures of her in uniform, I'd have never believed it :) Keep your chin up my brother.

Hey guys, I'm over in Fort Worth, which is close to the Tornado strike areas.

We got a lot of Rain around the house and the office, but everything is okay. Kind of a non-event for me and mine, even as we saw the horrific events just a few miles away. If you live in Tornado and Hail Country, and you see the 'right color clouds' in a windy and rainy sky, you know something bad is coming your way. It's just a question of 'where'. This time, 'where' was a few miles away instead of directly over head.

West mentioned the Texas Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, right next to where we have the Arlington, TX Guitar Show in October.
A funnel cloud passed directly over the Ballpark yesterday. One of the Rangers, Mike Napoli, captured it on his cell-phone:

Best, Harry

PS Dave, sorry to hear about your Mother in Law and your Uncle. HH

Glad you're OK, Harry. As bad as it was, it's very fortunate that this happened in the afternoon, when fewer people are home and most are awake. Here in Florida, the big tornado events frequently happen in the middle of the night and the result is more deadly.

Ditto Dave's sentiments, guys. And, Dave, I didn't know that about the timing of most of the tornados in FL. Man, not to put too fine a point on it, but I'd MUCH rather be dealing with a tornado during daylight. :(
