Re: Very rudimentary S-100 owners roster

What?! I did stop at five ... and then went right on past six and onto seven. In essence, it's your fault, Q, with all your "go vintage" talk about the S-100s. And then it was all about the "cool kids" club and owning three S-100s. Now I see why you're dumping your '96 reissue. You don't want to be in a club that would have me as a member ... Can't say as I blame you on that one.

Don't invite Thunderface. He'll come in and buy up all the Guilds.

Nice idea for a thread! Looks like you did some legwork Thuderface.
Thanks for taking the time , and remembering me guys!

SO, how close are we to owning all the S-100s in the world?

We're making a small dent. Qvart has a list of something like 57 S-100s with serial numbers that have appeared on eBay, Craighslist, the 'net, that he's been jotting down for fun. The ones we own on my list comprise only a small portion of that list, and that list represents only a fraction of the ones still out there. So we better get going! :)

TF, nice Pinky and the Brain quote. I use that one quite often myself.

Yes, I have begun compiling info on S-100’s I come across, including serial numbers, pictures, sales descriptions, and prices. Of course it won’t come anywhere near the info Hans has collected, but it satisfies my geeky research-fu.

If any of you want to share info about your S-100’s shoot me a PM. It’s really all just for my amusement, but it has actually come in handy when answering questions from fellow LTG’ers looking for info. Apparently I’ve become something of the go-to-guy for that.

And check out my post in LTG-Bay if you’re interested in a red ’96. Don’t worry, it doesn’t take much effort to update my list and add a new owner! ;)

Q, had any bites on that reissue beauty? Now if you had told me to "go vintage and don't overlook the reissues" we might be talking deal right now. But I do as I'm told, and the standing order when it came to S-100s was "go vintage."

Okay, my advice to you is: go vintage and don't overlook the reissues. Nooch!

Re: Very rudimentary S-100 owners roster

Hi all,

You can put me down on your list if you'd like. I own a really nice walnut colored S-100 reissue. S/N is FB000801, which I believe makes it a '98?

I bought it from a friend a few years ago and I absolutely love it, it's a great guitar. I play it mainly through a Fender DRRI, which I think is a great match.

Someday I'd like to get a chance to play a vintage, I gather from everyone's post that they are somewhat different (nicer?) than the reissues.

'98 I think. But you'd have to ask Hans to be sure.

Pics?

Re: Very rudimentary S-100 owners roster

You've been added, g-182. From the looks of things, we're well-represented with the Standard, Carveds and the later Reissues, and light on 1st reissues and Deluxes. Let's see if we can't do something about that, huh gang? (Note: -- gulliver, in case you haven't been following that closely, the ones highlighted in bold are the self-proclaimed "cool kids" who have three S-100s. I guess if you're lucky enough to have three S-100s in your possession, that would be worthy of some special designation, although I said before that just having one S-100 is pretty cool.

Ouch Willy got his stolen? (sorry been out of the loop for a while)

Should we keep an eye out for a SN?

Which S-100 does Guildzilla have?
Or you just saving a spot for him? ;) hehe

His collection fluctuates, so who knows!

The case he sold to me came from a white one, a bit beat up (the guitar, not the case), from '97 or after.

It would, but is there another one as beautiful as yours, which for those of you who haven't figured out that clicking on the green '94 S-100 on Hammer's signature pulls up this...

Say, it just dawned on me that you have the Michigan State or Boston Celtics of '94 reissues ... you know, green and white.

Is it bad that I still go googoo eyed when I see that pic...and the guitar is sitting right next to me? I was planning to post it for sale as an April Fool's joke, but then decided even I wasn't that mean. Woulda been kinda funny though... 8)

That depends? Is it bad that I've taken more photos recently of my Guilds than I have of my kids? As for the April Fool's joke, I think it would be hi-larious. Of course, no you let the cat out of the bag. You should have kept that one squirreled away.

Har har. I seriously doubt I - or anyone else around here - would have fallen for that.

Re: Very rudimentary S-100 owners roster

Speak for yourself. I would have firing off e-mails to you saying, "Qvart! Hammer's selling his green reissue. Seriously, you gotta get ahold of him before it's gone."

See, I told you I'd be on the lookout for a first reissue for you. :p What would really give it away would be Hammer saying he was selling it or throwing it on eBay and not offering it up to one of us first to keep it in the family.
